ASSEMBLY MEMBERS AND BUDGET COMMITTEE MEMBERS ATTEND CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME ON THE REVISED COMPOSITE BUDGET MANUAL.

The budget committee of the Shai-Osudoku District Assembly in collaboration with Regional Coordinating Council(RCC) have organized a day's training program on capacity building for Assembly members and members of the budget committee on Friday12th April,2024 at the Word of Faith school’s Assembly Hall at Dodowa.

The training was aimed at deepening the knowledge of the budget committee and Hon.Assembly members on the manual to enable them perform their functions in the formulation and management of the Assembly’s budget.

The District Chief Executive of the District Hon. Fred Offei welcomed the team from Ministry of Finance and the Regional Coordinating Council and all the Assembly Members as well as the budget committee members for honoring the call to come build their capacity for the good of the district.

He thanked the team for organizing such a programme and pleaded that from time to time such capacity-building trainings should be organized to equip members of the Assemblys to help them develop themselves for the development of their various assemblies.

The Presiding Member of the Shai-Osudoku District Assembly, Hon. Noah Sabutey said he was glad such a training was organized to equip the newly elected Assembly Members and re-elected Assembly members to gain more knowledge in the delivering of their mandate.

He welcome the team on behalf of all the Assembly Members and asked that such programs should be frequent to help the Assembly achieve its goals.

The team from the Ministry of Finance first took the house through the functions of Assembly members, what they are supposed to do,what not to do, information they are to carry to their electoral areas as well as information they are to keep.They were also taken through how they supposed to communicate with their people for better feedback and understanding.

There were some few questions and answers session to help Assembly members gain more knowledge and insight as to how to deliver their duties diligently.

The team further presented the house with the revised composite budget manual, what it entails as well as roles to be played by the various sub-committees of the Assembly in preparing and approving the budget.The team emphasized the role of the F&A committee, budget committee and the General Assembly in approving the budget.They further explained to the various sub-committees the key ingredients to look out for, what to do to make sure the budget is the true reflection of what the Assembly wants to do, because once approved by the General Assembly and signed by the Presiding Member and District Coordinating District there is nothing to bed one about it unless mid-year when is time for review.

The District Coordinating Director Dr.Mrs.Elizabeth Ampaw Deletsa thanked the team for such a wonderful presentation and knowledge sharing and also thanked all the Assembly members for availing themselves to build their capacity for the development of Shai-Osudoku District Assembly.
