SHAI-OSUDOKU DISTRICT ASSEMBLY HOLDS MAIDEN STAFF DURBAR FOR THE YEAR 2024.

On Tuesday 24th September,2024 the Shai-Osudoku District Assembly held its maiden staff durbar at the forecourt of the District Assembly, focusing on educating staff on health and safety measures at the workplace.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon. Fred Offei, welcomed all staff and the various heads of department to the durbar and cautioned them to stay away from activities that hinder their productivity.

He stated that the durbar was aimed at equipping staff with essential knowledge and skills to manage stress at work, and mental health issues.

Representatives from the District Health Directorates explained to staff the causes of stress and how to manage it and also issues of mental health to make sure staff were of sound mind at work.

Representatives from the District Fire Service walked the staff through some safety measures at work and home and the District Ambulance Service also provided the staff with expert insights and training on how to administer first aid to colleagues at work and home. They emphasized the importance of safety protocols, emergency preparedness and prompt response to minimize the risk of losing a colleague or loved one.

There was an open forum where staff members actively participated in the interactive sessions. Some staff shared their concerns, experience and advice to ensure safety precautions were heeded at the workplace.

The head of the Human Resource Department, Madam Josephine Bottey thanked the Fire service, the Ambulance service and the District health directorate for making time to educate the staff of the District Assembly on health and safety measures at the workplace adding that, more of such trainings, at least twice a year would come in handy.
