Shai-Osudoku District Assembly holds Public Hearing Forum on District Medium Term Development Plan.

The Shai-Osudoku District Assembly has held a public hearing forum on the 2022- 2025 District Medium Term Development Plan (DMTDP) to develop guidelines and plan of action to continue the development agenda of the district.

The forum also sought to afford participants the opportunity to make constructive inputs into the development planning processes which forms a key foundation and an integral part of the process.

In his welcome address, the District Chief Executive Hon. Daniel Teye Akuffo welcomed all stakeholders to the forum and said he hopes for a fruitful deliberation”

In a brief presentation, on the DMTDP, the  Development Planning Officer, Mrs Edith E.Lawuvi  said the Assembly would spare no effort to bridge the development gap in the district adding that priority would be given to all stalled projects before new ones would be added.

She said key projects currently ongoing under the 1D1F include processing factories some of which are cited at Ayikuma, Agomeda and Manya Jorpanya.

Mrs Lawuvi said under the banner of economics, the Assembly would optimize key sources of economic growth and, enhance the enabling environment to transform agriculture in the district.

She further stated that, for 2022-2025, the assembly would leave no stone unturned to emphasize all ongoing projects before introducing completely new projects.

A participant called on local and national authorities to regulate the rate at which plastic soft drinks are spreading on the market adding that the overconsumption of such projects has dire consequences on the health of the people.

The Chief of Manya Jorpanya,Hon.Nene Dr Tei Djahene urged the assembly and all development partners to approach the rightful authorities for the acquisition of land for development purposes.

In a closing remark, Hon. Daniel Akuffo urged all stakeholders to play their part to help achieve the intended goals for the District.
