SHAI-OSUDOKU WINS GHANA GOSHIEN BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Sota DA and Kongo DA Basic schools in Shai Osudoku District won the Ghana Koshien Baseball Championship, held at the Labone Senior High School on Saturday 31st August, 2024.

The 2-Day Championship had 4 participants from 3 Regions in the Country. The Championship sought to generate interest in the sport of Baseball in Ghana, especially at the Basic School Level.

Present at the Championship were the Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, a representative from JICA, a representative from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Presidents of Baseball Africa and Ghana, the Director of Education and other important dignitaries.

Baseball was first introduced in the District by the District Director of Education, Ms. Harriet Lomotey in 2022 to help unearth talents to play the game globally and also seek support for educational Sponsorship for learners who take the game seriously.

For winning the Competition, they were awarded a Trophy and a Cash Prize.
