SODA HOLDS THE SECOND ORDINARY MEETING OF THE SECOND SESSION OF THE EIGHTH ASSEMBLY.

The Shai-Osudoku District Assembly has held its second ordinary meeting of the eighth Assembly at Guggisburg Memorial Hall in Dodowa.The meeting addressed critical matters, including a presentation of the Executive Committee Report, a comprehensive review of the 2024 fiscal year budget, and recommendations from the Public Relations and Complaints Committee (PRCC)which was presided over by Hon.Noah Sabutey.

The District Chief Executive (DCE)Hon.Fred Offei presented the Executive Committee Report. Key recommendations included:

*Organizing stakeholder engagements on local planning and development permits*

*Securing land for cemeteries and landfill sites*

*Acquiring land for a slaughterhouse and animal market in Asebi*

*Funding the development of a lorry park in Henyum*

*Approval of the 2024 Revised Programme Based Composite Budget and Annual Action Plan*

The Public Relations and Complaints Committee (PRCC) proposed the acquisition of a 100-acre parcel of land in Agomeda for the development of a cemetery and waste management facility. The project is expected to: Generate revenue for the district, provide sustainable infrastructure, and also, Involve active community engagement to ensure its success.

A rep from the budget unit Mrs.Mary Asumadu presented the 2024 fiscal year budget, which provided a comprehensive breakdown of the district’s financial plan. The revised budget included:

A summary of expenditures by program, economic classification, and funding.

Revenue budget and actual collections for 2023/2024, categorized by objectives and expected results.

Detailed expenditure by program and source of funding, covering infrastructure projects, social services, and economic development.

The assembly also discussed appropriations for other social services, including support for persons with disabilities (PWD), climate change mitigation interventions, and the renovation of key health and educational facilities.

The General Assembly approved the revised budget, making a major step toward achieving the district's goals for 2024. The assembly remains focused on fostering sustainable development, improving infrastructure, and enhancing the quality of life for residents of Shai-Osudoku.
