6- Unit Classroom Block Teacher's and Nurses Bangalow Commissioned

The Chief Servant of Shai-Osudoku District Assembly, Hon. Daniel Akuffo on  Tuesday,16th March 2021 commissioned two recently-built infrastructure projects at Volivo and Atrobinya.

 The commissioning which happened at Kewum-Atrobinya was graced by the Osudoku Traditional chief's, District Health Director, Rev Ebenezer Asiamah, District Education Director, Mrs. Elizabeth Awoornor-Williams, Head of Region, Fairtrade Africa, Managing Director of GEL, Mr. Benedict Rich, and the District Information Officer, Mrs.Cornelia Asante-Obeng.

The commissioning was done to make the recently built 6-unit and 3-unit classroom block fully operational for the primary and kindergarten respectively at Kewum-Atrobinya and a semi-detached Teachers and nurses bungalow at Volivo which was financed by the Golden Exotic Limited Banana Farm Fairtrade Premium Committee.

 The Committee also donated 90 dual desks,90 chairs,15 hexagonal tables,14 teachers tables, and 29 teachers chairs which were all done through the generosity of the committee.

The Managing Director of Golden Exotic Limited, Mr. Benedict Rich in his speech said " it gives me great pleasure and pride that you have accepted our invitation at a short notice to be here today to witness the commissioning of a 6-unit and a 3-unit classroom blocks with offices and facilities for the D/A Basic School, primary and kindergarten sections respectively.

Also commissioned were 10 residential houses with facilities for teachers and nurses of Volivo all in the Osudoku Traditional area.

He expressed sincere appreciation to the people of the District for their conscious and continuous patronage of their products.

He continued by elaborating on other projects that have been completed by the FPC over the last few years which included a science laboratory for Osudoku Senior High Technical School, a vocational Training Center for Osuwem and Kasunya water project.

Moving on, he mentioned the planned but yet-to-be executed projects which included water projects for Nyapienya, Ayiborm, and communities, health facilities for Asutuare to be done jointly with the Volta River Estates Ltd.

The District Director of Education, Mrs. Elizabeth Awoonor-Williams expressed sincere gratitude towards the organizations for their good works, thanking them for their kind gesture not only towards the district but also towards these young ones who will benefit from the newly-built classrooms directly.

"Education, as we all know, requires the collaborative effort of all stakeholders of which organizations are no exception." Permit me ladies and gentlemen to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Golden Exotic Limited for this kind gesture". I am very confident that this gesture will greatly reduce the challenge of staff accommodation in the district and also enhance the quality of teaching and learning", she said.

The District Health Director, Rev Ebenezer Asiamah thanked them for their good works and pleaded for more of these good deeds for the district as time goes on. He said by so doing the bond between the district and Golden Exotic Limited will grow stronger and the district will develop.

The District Chief Executive, Hon Daniel  Akuffo in his closing remarks thanked the company for their works and said that they will be very grateful if more of these decent works are seen in the district.

He mentioned the fact that the Assembly collaborated with Golden Exotic Limited, without which the Assembly would not have been part of the commissioning.

He assured the company that the Assembly will continue to collaborate with Golden Exotic Limited on every other project. He pleaded with Golden Exotic Limited that anytime they have any project for the district, they should discuss with the assembly in order for the assembly to include them in their budget and use those monies for other profitable venture that will benefit the district.

He said the Golden Exotic Limited Banana Farm Fair Trade Premium Committee's active participation, the numerous expenses and sponsorship, and exhibitions displayed throughout this project have produced these beautiful bungalows and classrooms.

"To ensure we seize the opportunity on new technologies offered to accelerate progress, to transform and build resilient societies, you have acted to strengthen the cooperation between the community and the Golden Exotic Limited Banana Farm Fairtrade Premium Committee by use of advance science and technology", he said.
