Budget Unit Holds Stakeholders Meeting to Educate Public on New Rates of Fee.

The Budget Unit of the Shai Osudoku District Assembly (SODA) have held a Stakeholders meeting to educate members of the public on new fee-fixing rates.

The main objective was to use the platform to disseminate government policies, programs and activities to strengthen education and to sensitize the public on revenue mobilization for development purposes.

The program also aimed to educate participants on new rates of both the Local government and the District policies with respect to the 2022 budgetary allocation.

It was attended by a broad section of workers from society including vocational workers associations, beauticians, traders, hotel restaurant operators, Carpenters, among others.

The District Budget Analyst  Mr Frank Assimeng impressed on the stakeholders the need to pay their levies regularly.

He explained to them that the difference in increment was marginal of two cedis and five cedis.

The District Chief Executive Hon. Daniel Akuffo explained to them these taxes mobilized by the assembly from the community enables the assembly bring developmental projects to the community and helps other future projections suit the development plan for the district.

He took participants through how to acquire Business Operating Permit from the assembly and some projects the Assembly has undertaken so far.

"In a question and answer session, a participant asked if a committee has been formed to educate the people in the community on the value of paying their property and other rates and levies".
