GHANA HIGHWAY AUTHORITY HOLDS COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT WITH STAKEHOLDERS ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF 23-KM ADENTAN - DODOWA ROAD.

 

The Ghana Highway Authority has held community engagement with stakeholders in anticipation of the construction of a 23-km road from Adentan to Dodowa.

 

The stakeholders include community members in Adentan, Dodowa and Kpone katamanso whose business structures would be affected by the exercise.

 

Assemblies from the three areas have been prevailed upon to intensify public announcement to prevail on community members to remove structures likely to impede a smooth operation of project.

 

Community members to be affected by the project have a two-week ultimatum to evacuate their structures along the stretch to avert potential losses and damages.

 

The Regional Director of the Ghana Highway Authority Engineer Oko said there was the urgent need for the three assemblies to prioritize public sensitization of the impending project to forestall any incident of victimization.

 

He said road engineers would deploy graders to commence work by Tuesday 23rd January, 2024 by which time all structures should have been removed to pave way for a smooth operation.

 

According to him, such structures were only given temporal permits by the assemblies in view of the project awaiting commencement in the foreseeable future.

 

He called for the cooperation of all stakeholders to ensure that the project was completed according to schedule to promote social mobility and economic development in the region.
