DCE Tours Flood Prone Areas in the District
Hon. Daniel Akuffo joined officers of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) on an assessment tour of some flood prone areas to ascertain the progress of work of some storm drains within the district. The team was joined by officials from Feeder Roads who are in charge of the ongoing construction of some drainages and inner roads in the Dodowa Township.
The delegation made the first stop at Ghanata SHS road, where the storm drains are being widened from point 6 to point 9. This is to ensure that they can efficiently channel the inflow of rain water from the hills to avoid floods. The team also visited the old dodowa hospital site, Ashaiman junction, Aperkon, Wedokum and Gigedokum to further asses the district's preparedness towards floods and the best ways to prevent them.
This is part of the Shai-Osudoku District Assembly and NADMO's proactive measures to protect lives and properties in the district.
