Free Reconstructive Surgeries for Cleft Patients in Shai-Osudoku
Operation Smile Ghana in collaboration with Lions Club will conduct it's 13th medical mission to Ghana in Shai-Osudoku district from 23rd to 29th August 2018.
A team from the organization, led by Lucy Apeajei, the Program Coordinator, visited the management of Shai-Osudoku District Assembly today, 28th June 2018. They presented a letter to management asking for assistance in providing shelter for the patients. They proposed Ghanata Senior High School as the appropriate place to house the patients. This is because the students will be on vacation and the dormitories will be vacant and also it's proximity to the Shai-Osudoku District Hospital where the surgeries will be carried out.
The operations will benefit between 25 to 40 patients from 6 months old and above. The patients will be housed and fed with foods prescribed by their team of nutritionists to adequately prepare them for the procedure. There will be mattresses provided to all the patients throughout their stay at Ghanata.
The Management of SODA assured the team of their assistance to make the process a success.
