Global Shaper's Community Pays Courtesy Call on Soda Chief Executive.

Global Shapers Community, an International Non- Governmental Organization has paid a courtesy call on the Shai- Osudoku District Assembly on Thursday 30th July 2020.

Global Shapers Community is an international network of committed young individuals across the world who believe in making changes in their localities, countries and by extension the world at large.

In a welcome address, the District Chief Executive for Shai- Osudoku District Hon. Daniel Teye Akuffo congratulated the members for being part of the great initiative that positively influence their communities.

He entreated the group to carry out more education in the district since he apparently saw it as one of the major needs of the area.

In an address, Ms. Roseline Nartey,the group leader said GSC is an initiative of the  World Economic Forum which started in the year 2011 when they decided that many decisions are taken at the global level by global leaders for countries and societies without the voice of the youth being heard adding that it was at that point that the need was realized to establish GLC to give voice to the young at the decision table.

She said in Ghana, the Accra hub was started and continued with Kumasi, Sunyani, Cape Coast, and Ho, saying they thought it prudent to establish one in Dodowa.

She said they decided to do so because centered at the big cities but they realized the need to also go to the rural and rural-urban areas since there are developmental issues to be tackled there.

According to her, one of their missions was to find out how they can be of help to the district in the context of development.

The organization, she said was opened to the youth in the age bracket of 18-27years, adding that if they were in school at the time of registering, they would be monitored till they complete and avail themselves fully to the cause of the organization.

Ms. Nartey spoke of some of their project achievement as provision of basic necessities through sourcing support from organizations and using their expertise for the construction of facilities such as boreholes for areas that need them.
