MP, DCE AND EDUCATION DIRECTOR INSPIRE BECE CANDIDATES.
Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the Shai-Osudoku District have been motivated by key dignitaries in the District in a brief ceremony held at the Dodowa "Presby B school park".
The dignitaries include the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Linda Ocloo, the District Chief Executive, Hon.Ignatius Dordoe and the District Education Director, Madam Harriet Lomotey.
The District Education Director, Ms. Harriet Lomotey, welcomed the candidates and commended them for their hard work towards the examination.
She acknowledged the dedication of the teachers and the various interventions rolled out by the Directorate to ensure the candidates were ready for the examinations.
Interacting with the candidates, she urged them to meet the District target of 85% for this year's BECE.
On his part, the Hon. District Chief Executive Mr. Godfred Ignatious Dordoe, assured the students of the Assembly’s support in various forms to enable them come out with flying colors.
“Do not fear; be courageous and you will overcome any examination fever” he said, inspiring the candidates to approach the exams with confidence.
He further pledged that the District Assembly will partner with the Member of Parliament to reward best performing candidates emerging out of this year's examinations.
Taking her turn, the Hon. Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku Constituency and Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo, addressed the candidates and wished them well in the impending examinations.
She used the occasion to officially launched the Linda Akweley Ocloo Education Fund, announcing that the best-performing male and female candidates in this year’s BECE will each receive an amount of GHS 10,000.00 to support their higher education.
Hon. Linda Ocloo also donated 2,531 mathematical sets to all BECE candidates in the District to support the candidates in their examination.
The beautiful ceremony was well- attended by Officers at the Education Directorate, Head Teachers, Teachers and Aides of the Hon. Minister and DCE.
