Residents of Osuwem, Asutsuare marks Founder’s Day with a clean-up.
The Shai-Osudoku District Assembly of the Greater Accra Region, as part of its activities making this year’s Founders Day Celebration, took a clean-up exercise at Asutsuare and Osuwem to get rid of filth in the area.
The exercise was to prepare the communities for their annual Aadegbor Festival of the Chiefs and people Osudoku Traditional Area.
They filled pot holes with gravels and sand, cleaned the community chip compound, cleared bushy areas and desilted choked gutters in the two communities.
The District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Daniel Akuffo was also part of the exercise and urged local councils to do more to ensure that, the people supported the President’s vision of making Accra the cleanest in Africa.
He further stated that, the Founders’ Day celebrations would be set aside every year for general cleaning in the area in honour of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana.
He added that, he was so much enthused with the massive turn up. And thanked the community to continue with the good work they are doing.
