Lions Club International Donates Medical Logistics to Agomeda Health Centre
Lions Club International, Zone 1 have donated medical logistics worth GHC7000 to Agomeda Health Centre in the Shai- Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region on Saturday 19th September 2020.
The items include 10 gallons of sanitizer, 10 boxes of nose mask, 20 gallons liquid soap, 20 gallons bleach, 15 boxes of hand gloves and 8 parks of issue.
Presenting the items, the chairman of the Zone 1 club Lion Wisdom Komla Awittor said the club decided to do the presentation in the area because the Chief Executive of the district is a member of the club.
He said the club is the largest charity association in the world with a global member population of 1.4 million people.
He said in Ghana there are 817 Lions adding the club has existed in Ghana for 38years.
He further stated that there are 27 Lion clubs in the communities in all the regional clubs in Ghana.
He encouraged other well- to- do and well meaning people to join the club to help support deprived communities.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Health Centre,the Chief of Agomeda expressed great appreciation for the timely gesture of the donation.
He said there are many CHPS compound and Health Centres in the area who use these items on a daily basis so it has certainly come in handy.
According to him,scores of people from the District interact on a daily basis in an attempt to access primary health care.
He called on other clubs to continue the charity work in other jurisdictions.
