NCCE holds National Security Project on National Cohesion and inclusive participation in Governance.

With the recent increase in social vices and conflicts, the National Commission for  Civic Education (NCCE) with support from the Ministry of National Security saw the need to hold a series of Inter-Party Dialogue Committee Meetings to buttress the role of key stakeholders in the country.

 The NCCE is embarking on a series of community sensitization activities including Inter-Party Dialogue Committee( IPDC) Meetings under the theme: Empowering Ghanaians to stand up for National cohesion and inclusiveness.

The IPDC Meetings seek to reinforce the role of political parties as key stakeholders for ensuring peace and security in the country.

Furthermore, it is to deepen the existing collaboration between the NCCE, political parties, the youth, security agencies, District Assemblies, Civil Society and Community Leaders as important stakeholders for ensuring peace and security in Ghana.

  In a communique, it said as important stakeholders, political parties have a crucial role to play in forging national cohesion, peace and security.

  It said the countries threat to security and national cohesion tend to be caused by local socio-economic and cultural grievances aggravated by poverty, unemployment, among others.

  A PowerPoint presentation on National Security Strategy said the most important things for a nation are the peace and safety of its people and the territorial integrity.

  The strategy outlines the risk and threats confronting the country and ways of solving this challenges.

  The purpose of the National Security is to ensure a secure and prosperous Ghana, with regional, continental and global reach and influence.

  At the close of the meeting, political parties shall issued a joint statement on their commitment to ensuring peace and security of the country.
