New DCE Presents First Sessional Address at the 2nd Ordinary Meeting of the 2nd Session of the 7th Assembly.
The New District Chief Executive for Shai Osudoku, Hon. Fred Offei has presented his first sessional address at the General Assembly with a call on all hands on deck to tackle development challenges on Tuesday 8th November 2021.
He seized the opportunity to commend the assembly for the outstanding performance during the District Assembly Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT).
He said “even though our performance has been very good, there are rough edges that need to be sharpened in the foreseeable future.
On development projects, he said his administration would ensure equity in the allocation of development projects.
Having had the opportunity to tour some parts of the district, he said his administration would make a conscious attempt to complete many uncompleted projects whilst rolling out new critical ones to strengthen decentralization in the district.
Furthermore, he stated his serious attention will be paid to advance the flagship programmes of the government like planting for food and jobs, one district one factory among others.
On revenue, he pointed out that all programmes and projects of the assembly for 2021 were financed with internally generated funds, adding that assembly members should join forces with Management to work hard at generating more revenue locally to finance more programmes and projects.
Touching on agriculture, he said it is common knowledge that agriculture is the backbone of the District economy for which so much attention is given through the implementation of the government flagship projects among others to improve the livelihood of farmers in the district.
Hon. Offei said his vision revolves around five thematic areas which are; road infrastructure, sanitation, Agriculture, Health and education adding that improving these sectors with the needed resources will transform the district from its current status to a much higher.
In a welcome address, the Presiding Member Hon. Noah Sabutey welcomed the new DCE to his maiden Assembly meeting.
He encouraged all Assembly Members to support the Agenda of the new DCE adding "let's work together as one to achieve efficiency and effective delivery of our core mandate to our people".
