Shai-Osudoku District Assembly Holds Stakeholders Meeting Towards Impending General Elections.
The Shai-Osudoku District Assembly in collaboration with major stakeholders comprising the District electoral officer, the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Immigration Service, District fire service and the security agencies recently organized a meeting to devise strategies towards managing the upcoming elections.
In their deliberations, the District Electoral Officer Mr William Cofie Lettuce said the ballot papers have been printed in adequate quantities to serve the district adding that all materials needed have been received.
He disclosed that Tuesday 1st December 2020 was the day slated for the Special voting, adding that the ballot papers will be brought to the district on Friday 27th November 2020 preceding the day. He said ICCESS is the district centre for the special voting.
He recommended that NCCE and the Information Services Van should go down to the people and educate them on the need to examine their names before it was time to cast their vote.
According to the District Police Commander, ACP Barnabas N.Nasumong, security arrangements are fully in place to ensure a peaceful election in the district.
The chairman thanked everyone present and acknowledged the informative outcome of the meeting.
Political parties present at the meeting include New Patriotic Party, National Democratic Congress, Great Consolidated People's Party and Ghana Union Movement who all pledged their commitment to peace in the election.
