Shai- Osudoku District Assembly Organizes Orientation Program for National Service Personnel.
The Shai-Osudoku District Assembly has organized a one-day orientation program for National Service Personnel in the district.
The orientation program was intended to formally introduce the personnel to the code of ethics and hierarchical structure of the District assembly.
Addressing participants, the District Chief Executive,(DCE), Hon. Fred Offei Twum impressed on them the core values of respect and hard work.
He urged the personnel to create a good cordial working relationship with their bosses because the favorable remarks their bosses make about them could be their selling point.
The Acting District Coordinating Director, Mr. Robert Mensah Gbley explained the core functions of the units, structures, and departments to the personnel.
He advised them to visit other departments at their leisure periods and acquaint themselves with the operations of those departments.
The Human Resources Manager, Mrs.Yaa Adoma Owusu also touched on the virtues of decency and personnel mode of dressing.
She further stressed punctuality and mannerisms and expressed concern about how personnel relates with officers in and out of the office.
The Head of Development Planning Units, Mrs.Edith Lawuvi Gadagu explained the mainstream functions of the unit as the central focal point of the assembly.
She said the unit scrutinizes all the plans for developmental projects and programs for the district.
" The plans we prepare guide the developmental projects the assembly undertakes, thus promoting decentralization and creating access to social amenities to all"', she explained.
The District Information Officer, Mrs. Cornelia Asante- Obeng added that her department was the mouthpiece of the Assembly, adding that personnel could visit the office at their wish anytime they needed answers to issues boggling their minds as far as the district was concerned.
She urged the personnel to make it a point to be the assembly's ears at all times wherever they find themselves in the district.
