THE GHANA HEALTH SERVICE IN COLLABORATION WITH NADMO DISTRIBUTED RELIEF ITEMS TO VICTIMS OF THE AKOSOMBO DAM SPILLAGE IN THE SAFE HAVENS AT TOKPO AND DJORKPO.

Shai-Osudoku District Health Directorate in collaboration with NADMO on Wednesday 24th January, 2024 distributed relief items to victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage in the safe havens at Tokpo and Djorkpo.

The District Health Director Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Asiamah handed over the items on behalf of Ghana Health Services to NADMO for onward distribution. 

The items include 500 pieces of mattresses, 750 pieces of rubber buckets, 1500 pieces of toilet rolls, 500 pieces of mosquito spray, 500 pieces of diabolic soap, and 500 pieces of bedspread. 

The District Health Director said these items were meant to relieve the affected persons in the safe havens and as such they will supervise the distributions which will be done in batches.

The District NADMO Director Nana Asante Boateng thanked the District Health Directorate and Ghana Health Service for this kind gesture and promised to make sure these items are distributed evenly among affected victims.

The District NADMO office also added some food items for distribution. These food items include 50 bags of rice, 10 bags of sugar, 15 bags of corn flour, 23 cartons of cooking oil, 20 cartons of tin fish, and 16 cartons of tom vita.

The District Health Director Dr. Ebenezer Asiamah assured the victims that the District is doing their best to make sure the victims are taken care of and getting them back to their livelihoods.

He further admonished them to comport themselves and adhere to health protocols while they are still at the safe havens.
