SHAI-OSUDOKU NADMO HOLDS COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT WITH TRADITIONAL AUTHORITIES.

The leadership of the National Disaster Management Organization (NaDMO) of Shai-Osudoku District Assembly has held a stakeholders meeting with the traditional authorities of flood affected communities at Tokpo in the Greater Accra Region .

The notable personalities present included the chief of Tokpo the assembly member of Tokpo electoral area and other opinion leaders.

Addressing the gathering, the District Director of NaDMO Nana Asante-Boateng thanked the

traditional authorities for their invaluable role and contributions during the management and mitigation efforts of the 2023 flood disaster.

The traditional authorities were informed of the possibility of another spillage in the near future and the potential effect of the spillage.

The traditional leadership raised challenges they were confronted with during the 2023 flood disaster.

These included:

1.Acute water shortage

2.The need to provide scholarship scheme for brilliant but needy students

3.Exemption for payment of electricity bills

4.Reconstruction of houses for the affected flood victims.

These concerns were addressed by NaDMO district Director.

As a means of appreciation, relief items were presented to the opinion leaders.
